Teeth whitening comparison of tow mouths side by side

Your smile is front and center when people meet or interact with you. A bright and cheery smile communicates health, happiness, and confidence. When your teeth are stained, however, it can change the entire look of your smile, making you come off as older or less confident than you truly are. At Haid Dental, we provide multiple whitening procedures that will fit both your needs and your wallet.

What types of whitening procedures do you have?

We have both in-office and at-home whitening procedures for your convenience. For the at-home option, we will create custom-fabricated clear trays made specifically for you. These trays can be taken home and filled with a whitening gel to allow for whitening at your convenience. We also have an in-office power bleaching technique that is highly effective, too. Many teeth-whitening gels contain carbamide peroxide, which is less concentrated than hydrogen peroxide. The peroxide penetrates the outer enamel layer of a tooth and breaks down stains within the second layer of tooth which is called dentin. We primarily prescribe ZOOM! Whitening gel, which has peroxide as well as a few other components that help to desensitize teeth after whitening.

We also have an in-office whitening technique that is highly effective. Using the Biolase EPIC laser, we can whiten your teeth in as little as 40 minutes with virtually no sensitivity. A hydrogen peroxide-based gel is applied to the teeth and then activated by the Epic laser. Drs. Haid, Johnson and Emrich are trained to avoid sensitivity and make the experience very pleasant. Years of stains accumulated from coffee, wine and tobacco can be removed with visual results immediately. When our smiles look good, we feel better. The Epic Laser is the perfect solution, as it’s fast and sensitivity-free.

How much does whitening cost?

The cost of your teeth whitening depends on which procedure you choose and how deep or dark the stains are on your teeth. At Haid Dental, we know that proper dental care can often be a financial challenge. We will work with you to come up with a plan that is both affordable and fits your personal needs.

How do I care for my teeth after whitening them?

After whitening procedures, you may experience some sensitivity of your teeth. One of the reasons we use ZOOM! Whitening Gel is because it specifically addresses sensitivity and works to decrease it while whitening your teeth. To care for your teeth after whitening, you should avoid foods that can stain your teeth and should continue your daily dental hygiene practice: brushing twice a day, flossing once a day, and visiting your dentist regularly for cleanings.
